The MI-6 is fully waterproof to a depth of 5 meters underwater. Therefore, you can of course search in the water with it. Even during a rainstorm you can simply continue searching and should the pinpointer become dirty after a long day of searching, you can rinse it off completely.

2 different tones
The MI-6 also allows you to choose from 2 different tones, Audio Pitch and Audio Pulse. Should you prefer not to hear tones, you can set it to vibration only.

Difference between the MI-4 and the MI-6
The only difference between the MI-4 and the MI-6 pinpointer is that you cannot pair the MI-4 with the ORX or Deus. The MI-6 you can pair and with that you can set the pinpointer via the remote control of the ORX or Deus. If you do not have an ORX or Deus, it is best to buy a MI-4 instead of a MI-6.
