The Fisher F44 is the big brother of the Fisher F11 and F22 metal detector. A weatherproof and modern A-brand metal detector that is also suitable for difficult soil conditions and mineral soils. Compared to the F11 and F22, the F44 offers more extensive features and capabilities and a better depth range. For example, the F44 features manual soil balance, mineralization level readout, display illumination and a larger search coil for additional depth. Also not missing are a pinpoint function, notch discrimination and a depth display. Like the F22, the F44 features numeric object identification for object recognition and a weatherproof design. Therefore, a rain shower is no problem for this good mid-range !
The Fisher F44 metal detector features numeric object identification (1-99). Once the metal detector detects an object, a number appears in the center of the display. Each number represents a metal type / object type. (For example no. 76 a euro coin, number 20 iron) This allows you to learn to identify (recognize) objects. In addition, the Fisher F44 detector features 5x audio pitch object identification. The metal detector then gives different audio tones for the different types of metal. For example, a high tone for silver, a low tone for iron and a middle tone for gold.
The Fisher F44 is a weatherproof metal detector, this means that you can work with this detector in the rain without the use of a rain protection cover for the display without any problems. This is a big advantage over other detectors. However, the F44 is not completely waterproof, so you cannot use the control panel with the electronics underwater.
You can adjust the sensitivity (depth) yourself, as well as the discrimination. (ability to discriminate unwanted objects such as nails and beer caps). The F44 detector also features a Notch function for the most accurate metal selection.
The Fisher F44 features a waterproof search coil and handle, the electronics control panel is weatherproof, but not waterproof. This allows you to use only the search coil and stem underwater.
This metal detector excels in its depth range and its rapid response (recovery) speed. The latter is especially important if there are multiple objects right next to each other. Most metal detectors will only give you 1 signal then. You will notice with the Fisher F44 that it lets you hear and see that there are multiple objects.
The depth range of the Fisher F44 is good. As with all other metal detectors, the principle is that the depth range always depends on the size of the object. The larger an object is, the deeper the F44 can detect it. In addition, other factors can play a role in the depth range such as soil type and soil conditions, material type, etc. In general, we can say that the Fisher F44 can detect an object the size of a single coin at a depth of 35 cm, and large objects to a maximum depth of 125 cm.
The Fisher F44 has an additional pinpoint function with depth display in inches. This is an aid for precisely locating objects. It allows you to better determine the location of the object and you will have less work digging up the object. While pinpointing, you can read the depth of the object in cm. on the display.
