Garrett's new Multi-Flex multifrequency technology allows the user to search on all search frequencies simultaneously. However, you can also choose to operate on 1 selectable search frequency, choosing from, 5, 10, 15 or 20Khz. Low search frequencies have the advantage of searching deeper and are especially ideal for searching for larger deep objects. High search frequencies have less depth but are very accurate in detecting the very smallest objects in the upper layer. The Ace Apex metal detector features both segment beam object identification and numeric object identification (1-99). Once the metal detector detects an object you will hear an audio tone and a number will appear in the center of the display. Each number represents a metal type/object type. (For example no. 76 a euro coin, number 20 iron) This way you can learn to identify (recognize) objects. To make things even easier, a block appears simultaneously at the top of the display below your segment bar. Here you can see what type of metal the object is probably made of.
